A little over two years ago, prolific horror scribe Stephen King posted a poll on his website asking fans what book he should write next. Dr. Sleep, a sequel to The Shining, beat out The Wind Through the Keyhole, a new entry in the world of The Dark Tower series, by 49 votes. I'd have personally rather seen the latter get the go ahead since I'll never tire of reading stories set in the world of The Gunslinger, yet here we are two years later and King has not only written another megahit in the intervening months (the time traveling tome 11/22/63), but Dr. Sleep is far enough along that the man is comfortable reading its first chapter to an audience at the Savannah Book Festival [via Dread Central].
